So, I've noticed the same thing in my own behavior. I had started gravitating toward online apps but getting a Mac reversed the trend.

I use iChat almost exclusively now.

I use gmail via Apple Mail's IMAP interface. I have found that Mail + Spotlight works just as well as gmail 95% of the time. I just cmd+space and type a few keywords and it almost always shows me messages that match. What's really nice is having the same mail program handle both gmail and my company's exchange server so all of that info is in one place. PLUS, you can drag emails to OmniFocus where a link to the email is stored, and the link works regardless of where you move the email in the Mail app. Pretty sweet.

I use Unison (a usenet client from Panic) for usenet. It's really nice. I didn't look all that long, but I haven't seen a news client that comes close to it on the mac.

I use NetNewsWire for RSS. I love it so far.

I will see what I can do about provided a preview option on comments.

Meh.

The R8 hasn't grown on me. Not surprising, though, I like my sports cars a little more understated. Now.. an S4: fuck and yes; now we're talking.

Your comment shit needs a preview. I have no idea what this HTML is going to end up looking like after I hit submit.

From what I understand, NetNewsWire and NewsFire are both a bit nicer. Vienna is free though, and still nice enough for me.
